GRASSROOTS DEMOCRATS HQ PRIVACY POLICY
The Grassroots Democrats HQ is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy and the information you share with us. This document describes the ways in which we use the information you share with us on our website and our social media sites. However, this Privacy Policy applies only to the HQ’s website; it does not apply to other websites, including those for which we may provide links. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites or online services, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Linked-In. We recommend that you read the privacy policies of each website you visit.
HOW DO WE COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION?
We collect that information that you provide directly to use. For example, we collect information when you make a contribution, make a purchase online from our website store, participate in any interactive services we provide, sign up to receive email updates or notifications (such as text message alerts), fill out a form, apply for a fellowship or to become an affiliate. The types of information we collect include your name, email address, postal address, phone number, and other information you choose to provide.
Our service provider uses various technologies by default to collect information, including cookies and web beacons. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory that, among other things, help us improve our online services and your experience, see which areas or features are popular, and count visits to our online services. If you do not want a website to collect cookies, you can choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject browser cookies it could affect the availability and functionality of the services we offer on our website.
Web beacons or “tracking pixels” are small electronic images that may be used on websites or in emails that help deliver cookies, understand usage and campaign effectiveness, count visits to our website, and determine whether an email has been opened and acted upon. These technologies are used to improve our email broadcasts as well as advertising and promotion programs. You can opt-out of these technologies for advertising by visiting AboutAds.info/choices.
We also may obtain information from other sources and combine it with information we collect through our website. For example, if you make a contribution to a third-party website, such as ActBlue, for our benefit or if you sign up to host or volunteer for an event associated with us through another website, such as Mobilize America, we will obtain certain information about you from the third party that operates that website.
HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION?
Our website has a number of security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the information under our control. Computer systems have restricted access limited only to those persons and organizations necessary to its proper functioning. This access applies to all electronic and physical security measures. Highly sensitive data including credit card information is additionally secured through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. Our servers are located in a locked, secure environment. We do not share contact information (including phone numbers and email addresses) collected through our website with any third party.
HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE?
We will use your email address to provide you with news and information about our efforts and strategy for electing Democrats across the country as well as your location information to send you email messages about volunteer opportunities and upcoming events in your area or virtually. We may use the information that you provide online to contact you for other purposes such as to solicit contributions. We do not share your information with other organizations unless we have partnered with one of them in sponsoring an event or volunteer opportunity for which you have signed up or registered.
WHEN YOU CONTRIBUTE MONEY ONLINE:
We do not store your credit card information under any circumstances. We are often required to disclose information regarding contributions (whether they are pure donations or donations for swag) to comply with campaign finance laws. For example, Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation and the name of the employer of individuals who contribute $50 or more to us. These records are available to the public on the FEC website.
UNSUBSCRIBING FROM EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS:
You may unsubscribe from our email communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email you received from us. These requests are processed instantly. To comply with the law, however, our contributor records will not be altered and are continuously maintained in a separate secure database.

If you have any questions about our Privacy Policy, corrections to the information we have collected for you online, the practices of this site, or your interaction with this website, please contact us.
